We are delighted to invite applications for a full time permanent Consultant Clinical Psychologist to lead psychology provision within Adult Mental Health Services in Midlothian.
The post holder will lead the development and provision of the general Adult Mental Health Psychology service across the Midlothian Health & Social Care Partnership and include the supervision of all those providing psychological therapy within highly complex environments. You will have a caseload of complex clients and provide expert supervision to colleagues, including provision of training placement supervision. You will be a psychological resource to clinical colleagues through supervision, consultancy and training. In addition, the post holder will hold line management and operational responsibilities for members of the psychology team within Midlothian.
The post holder will work directly within the Midlothian Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) alongside the PTS Team Lead and a team of Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. This service is administratively based within Number 11 in Dalkeith, linking with a range of co-located services including the CMHT, IHTT, Primary Care Mental Health Service and other services such as Substance Misuse. Professional and line management is provided by the Head of Adult Psychology for NHS Lothian and you would join a wider team of Consultant Leads across Adult Mental Health Psychology in Lothian with links maintained with a diverse range of psychology services across the adult specialties.
You will have a Doctoral level degree (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology and be eligible for registration with the HCPC and the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
In addition, you will have considerable experience in working within services, some leadership experience including direct line management, and a desire to work flexibly and collaboratively with both psychology, multidisciplinary and senior management staff to deliver evidence based, effective and timely psychological therapy and interventions to high standards of governance. We are particularly interested in individuals with a background in quality improvement & service development with the capability to lead and develop change in the delivery of psychological interventions.
