We are seeking two Test and Protect Manager to join our already established Test and Protect Manager on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022. These roles are available for an immediate start and will be based at Kirklands Headquarters in Bothwell with a homeworking element to the role.
Test and Protect is Scotland's approach to implementing the 'test, trace, isolate, support strategy', designed to break chains of transmission of COVID-19 in the community. This role forms part of NHS Lanarkshire’s Contact Tracing programme which undertakes effective and extensive contact tracing, supporting people to self-isolate where required to do so.
As a Test and Protect Manager you will support with the overall service delivery through prioritizing and delegating cases to a team of contact tracers providing support and guidance in contact tracing for COVID-19 related cases and their contacts.
As the Test and Protect Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Test and Protect Service Delivery Team in developing and delivering strategies which ensure optimal and adequate resource are available to deliver the Test and Protect service throughout Scotland.
You will be responsible for the operational management and control of the Test and Protect Team, and resources, and ensure that service provision is underpinned by NHS Lanarkshire’s values and a culture of person-centred care and management
As part of the Test and Protect Management Team, you will contribute to the formulation and delivery of the contact tracing strategy and business plan, and will be part of the management workforce supporting the operational hours of the NHSL Test and Protect Service.
You will achieve business performance objectives within quality standards which pertain to your sphere of responsibility by ensuring that performance targets are achieved.
You will ensure leadership of the Service and offer professional advice to managers, staff, patients and other NHS Boards. You will be the lead expert in the Test and Protect function, bringing innovation and modernisation to the Service.
In this key role you will lead the operational delivery of the Test and Protect service, through rigorous workforce planning and monitoring, ensuring there is the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of the service.
You will ensure that your team has the appropriate level of support, training and access to information and systems to ensure that they support delivery of an effective Test and Protect service.
This role is demanding, challenging and at the same time highly rewarding. Applicants will need to demonstrate, through current/previous work experience, the ability to deal with often stressful and emotional conversations with the public and members of your team.
This is a unique opportunity which will suit those who can demonstrate a flexible approach to working in a service which regularly changes, with adaptable attitude while keeping calm under pressure. Understanding, awareness and commitment to following Information Governance procedures and Data Protection legislation will be a requirement of this role.
The ability to work full time across a seven day work pattern is essential, the service operates from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week (inc. Public holidays)
To be successful in this position you will be someone who can remain calm under pressure, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with an empathetic nature. The ability to evidence being able to work independently, manage and prioritise own and team workload and cope with competing demands is an essential requirement as is a high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, electronic data information systems and it goes without saying - an exceptional telephone manner. The successful post-holder will be able manage and motivate a group of team leaders remotely.
