The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK and home to major specialist services such as renal medicine, transplantation and vascular surgery, with state-of-the-art Critical Care, Theatre and Diagnostic Services. The Royal Hospital for Children is adjoined to the adult hospital and has 244 paediatric beds with a further 12 neonatal beds in the maternity unit. This hospital provides a large number of specialist services to the West of Scotland and the wider population of Scotland in addition to a full range of secondary care services including cardiology and cardiac surgery, renal and bone marrow transplantation. For a number of these services, the children’s hospital is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland.
You will provide patient focussed clinical services to a varied group of patients and be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, advising and promoting the safe effective use of medicines and supporting technician led medicines management initiatives. You will gain experience in a variety of specialties including paediatrics.
The pharmacy department in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is a state of the art; purpose built facility that makes use of modern technologies including robotics. You will participate in the Band 6 rotation, which includes aseptic services.
You should have a Masters degree in Pharmacy, successful completion of pre-registration experience and exam and be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council. Continuous professional development is encouraged and supported.

Flexibility and good communication skills are essential as well as an ability to work as part of a team.
The post holder will work a 5 over 7 day shift pattern and will be required to participate in weekend working, extended hours service, Public Holiday working and out of hours on call service.
