The role of the Prescribing Adviser is to provide pharmaceutical support and advice on safe and cost-effective prescribing, that is consistent and of a high quality, to various individuals in the relevant primary care locality and to the unit lead clinician and the management team. To influence and implement change in prescribing practice in line with the Primary Care prescribing strategy and the NHS Lanarkshire strategy for medicines management. The Prescribing Management Team is responsible for strategic and operational advice across primary care in all matters relating to prescribing and medicines management. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy and be registered with the GPhC. A post-graduate Diploma/MSC in Clinical Pharmacy/Prescribing Science is desirable.
