Vacancy for Band 7 Physiotherapists - Emergency Department

Greater Glasgow and Clyde are delighted to have secured permanent funding for 3.5 WTE Band 7 Physiotherapists within the Emergency department of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. This will allow us to continue to build on the successful initiative of introducing physiotherapists within the ED to support the flow of MSK patients.

We are looking for candidates who have excellent clinical reasoning in relation to MSK related conditions. Your role would be to independently assess patients presenting in ED, make a provisional diagnosis, advice on management/treatment and where appropriate sign post to other services. You must have the resilience and behavioral skills to work within an unpredictable and changing work environment in relation to the number of attendances and the varying clinical presentations. You will work closely with your medical and nursing colleagues so high level communication skills and team working is vital for this post.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate expert MSK knowledge/skills, be confident with their clinical decisions.  It is essential that you have a Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy and that you are currently registered with the HCPC.  You should have Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/ CPD e.g. MACP, Diploma in Injection Therapy, Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine, advanced pain management and clinical reasoning.  The shift pattern for these posts will be 5/7 and will include weekend and evening shifts.
