In order to support the essential ongoing transformation of Urgent Care Services Fife (UCSF) we are expanding our existing team of Dispatchers on a fixed term basis. You will join the team at UCSF liaising with other Services in order to provide urgent care to the population of Fife and Kinross on a 24-hour basis.

We are looking for highly organised individuals who have experience working in a fast paced environment with the confidence and ability to use your own initiative when problem solving to ensure the UCSF runs smoothly, safely and effectively within the resources available. You will have consistent access to senior clinicians for support as required.

As a Dispatcher you will work alongside a Multi-Disciplinary Team and must demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships both internally and externally. You will also have experience of working within processes and agreed scripting to ensure safe and effective service delivery at all times.

You will have experience of working within a health-care setting, medical terminology, computer skills and have a good sound geographical knowledge of Fife.

UCSF is a 24/7 service. Rota’s will be agreed on a four week rolling basis. This will require you to be able to work flexibly both during the in-hours and out of hours period, including weekends and all public holidays; this also includes Christmas Day / Boxing Day / New Years Day. You would be expected to work these days as a normal working day should the days fall on your agreed rota days.

Number of posts / shift patterns available to provide in hours and out of hours cover Mon-Sun. 

Fixed Term posts for 4 months and 18 months, in the first instance. Please clearly indicate on the application form which fixed term post you are applying for (4 months or 18 months). 

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
