Fife Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service are looking for two speech and language therapists with experience of and an enthusiasm for working with adults with learning disability (ALD).
The SLT service is professionally managed within the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The posts will be based in Lynebank Hospital and will have strong links with the wider LD team.
The SLT ALD team is a small team of mixed grade therapists and associate practitioners. You will work closely with the community lead therapist and have strong links with the forensic lead therapist. The wider LD Service is going through transformational change to support service delivery across two reformed community teams (East Fife/West Fife). As well as working with the community teams there are opportunities for involvement in working with hospital based services at Lynebank, particularly to the Assessment and Treatment Unit based there. As part of the transformational change there is a strong drive to deliver and develop a quality service within a tiered model of intervention across Fife. All staff are expected to demonstrate leadership and will have opportunities to lead within their role.
You will work with adults with learning disability, their families/carers and other professionals to develop and implement personal outcome focused intervention within a tiered model of service delivery. You will bring comprehensive knowledge and experience of responding to requests for assistance and managing a mixed caseload of communication and swallowing difficulties for adults with learning disability. A relevant postgraduate qualification and autonomy in the management of dysphagia is essential, as is evidence of ongoing professional development.
