The post will be based within the Occupational Therapy service in Gartnavel Royal Hospital (GRH)
.
GRH has a range of mental health specialties including adult acute admissions, intensive psychiatric care unit, rehabilitation and complex care and older peoples’ assessment and complex care.
You will provide occupational therapy assessments, both standardised and non-standardised and will be expected to have an understanding of the Model of Human Occupation and its application in clinical practice.
You will develop goal focused treatment plans with patients and will deliver a range of therapeutic occupational focused interventions with patients, and be able to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and adapt accordingly.
You will demonstrate excellent core occupational therapy assessment and treatment skills and the ability to evaluate interventions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with other disciplines, relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to the post. You will be an integral part of the relevant multidisciplinary team and the inpatient occupational therapy team.
You will also be expected to supervise occupational therapy support staff.
The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development. You will be part of a well established occupational therapy service which focuses on evidence based practice and effective multidisciplinary working.
It is essential you have a Diploma / degree in Occupational Therapy with current Registration with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
With a knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions.
The shift pattern is; 8.30am -4.30pm Monday - Friday
