The team: 
HR People Solutions and experience are a team within the Human Resources and Workforce Development Department, who aim to provide an excellent service in all aspects of employment, from prior to commencement of employment and throughout the employment lifecycle of all staff. This includes providing a wide range of professional services such as recruitment, terms and conditions of service and policy, advice and guidance.
The vacancy and candidate:
We are looking for an HR Advisor with excellent communication skills, written and verbal, combined with excellent organisational and time-management skills to join the Case Management team. The individual should also have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess good decision-making skills. 
The successful applicant should also be able to advise on and, where appropriate, support managers and SBU Directors in the management of highly sensitive and complex matters relating to conduct, grievance, bullying & harassment, capability and performance issues.  This includes participation in investigations, formal disciplinary and grievance hearings and appeal where there is a reliance on the post holder’s professional expertise to inform decisions regarding outcomes providing options and highlighting associated risks at each decision point, taking into account employment legislation, best practice and the need to ensure fairness and consistency of approach
The post will be within the Case Management team within HR People Solutions and Experience. 
It is, therefore, essential that the postholder has a comprehensive understanding of human resources practices, has significant HR experience and has a professional, confident approach.  It is also crucial that the individual has robust influencing and communication skills and has a strong customer focused approach, balancing the needs of the customers with the requirement to adhere to terms, conditions, policy and process.
The ability to work as part of a team is also essential, with the postholder being an adaptable, willing and conscientious.  Experience of managing or supervising staff is required.
The postholder will also contribute to the ongoing continuous development, delivering a customer focused service across the wide range of services our team provides, leading on specific development work or projects.  
The postholder should be educated to degree level or have equivalent HR experience.  He/she should hold or be working towards a CIPD qualification.
The post can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, but travel to other NSS sites to attend meetings will be required.
The successful candidate must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers
