An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Charge Nurse to join the Palliative Care team in Fife covering a 8 bedded unit at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and a 7 bedded unit in Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline.
You will have overall responsibility for the supervision of the assessment of care needs and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes. You will be tasked with ensuring that the highest standard of personalized nursing care is delivered to patients, in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the ward team. Proactively managing resources in line with policies and budgetary requirements. You will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of staff for your areas. Management of complaints will be undertaken in line with the process defined by Patient Liaisons, investigation, outcome and actions will be shared with the teams.
Other duties will include ensuring all ward nursing staff attending regular 1:1 meetings to fulfil PDP and appraisal policy; taking a lead in efficient and effective HR planning.
Shifts run Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You are required to hold registration with the NMC with suitable experience at Band 6 level. It is desirable that you hold post registration qualifications pertinent to the specialty.
