As a Band 8A Senior Nurse Endoscopist you would be responsible for delivering an autonomous, high quality service to potentially complex patient groups across GG&C. You would be a JAG registered Endoscopist for Gastroscopy or Colonoscopy modalities or both. Educated to Masters degree level with an understanding of the manifestations and implications of gastrointestinal disease. You will have established experience of macroscopic pathology / lesion recognition during endoscopy. You will also have to demonstrate evidence of competence in advanced endoscopic procedures including:
- Bowel screening with high quality indicators of a caecal intubation rate of >90% - Adenoma detection rate of >20% - minimum 200 procedure count
- Complex Polypectomy / EMR
- Oesophageal dilatation/ percutaneous Endoscopic Gastroscopy ( PEG) insertion
You will offer specialist advice to other health care professionals, carers and relatives as well as contributing to the further development of the service by working collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence based GG&C standards, guidelines and policies. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have completed relevant courses in endoscopy at a Masters degree level, you should have expertise as a nurse endoscopist. We have posts available at Stobhill/Gartnavel General Hospital/Victoria Hospital/Royal Alexandra Hospital. The shift pattern for the posts are Monday - Friday
