If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

NHS Lothian maternity services are currently inviting qualified midwives to apply for Band 6 staff midwife positions within NHS Lothian. These posts will enable you to provide a full range of midwifery care across all care settings within Lothian community, outpatient and inpatient Lothian Maternity Service. These posts are permanent, on a rotational contract, offering various hours.

As an autonomous practitioner the post holder will plan and implement maternity care to ‘high’ and ‘low’ risk women within an integrated maternity service. The post holder will lead the management of low risk pregnancies and births however will be required to work closely with the multi-professional team within the acute, primary and home settings. In the absence of the Community Midwifery Team Leader /Charge Midwife the post holder may be required to provide cover to ensure effective operation within your area.
