You may be asked to liaise with other hospital wards, CPNs, social work, families, carers, Mental Welfare Commission, Nursing homes, and third sector agencies such as Alzheimer’s Scotland.
You will also be involved in the teaching and supervision of junior members of staff, and act as a buddy/supervisor/assessor to student nurses, bank staff, and new starts. A good attitude, knowledge and experience of working with people with dementia who experience stress and distressed behaviours is desirable. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is also a condition of this post. The service is delivered over 7 days per week, 24 hours a day, so shifts can be across the 24 hour period.
Informal enquires are welcomed to Alison Thomson, or Sharon Henderson, Charge Nurses 01506 437786
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
