INSTITUTE ADMINISTRATOR  - ACT (GRADUATE TRAINEE)

You will join the Institute of Education for Medical and Dental Sciences as one of a team of administrative and clerical staff who support the medicine degree programme. You will be located in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill site.

Specifically, you will be part of the ACT Office. ACT (Additional Cost of Teaching) is the additional resource allocated to Health Boards in Scotland by the Scottish Government through NHS Education Scotland (NES) to offset the legitimate additional costs of providing support and facilities for the clinical teaching of medical undergraduate students borne by hospitals and GP practices.

This is a post with a varied number of responsibilities covering both administrative and financial remits. A willingness to take ownership of all job components, to respond to challenging situations and to address and resolve issues is critical.

You have to be proficient in the use of computerised systems and relevant IT packages, in particular Excel and Access, and should be able to collate and analyse data. You need to be comfortable with working to deadlines and with minimal supervision. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, pro-activity and flexibility are essential.

You should have experience in an administrative role and ideally some knowledge of/experience in a healthcare and/or education setting and the NHS and/or University financial environment.

This is Graduate trainee position within the team and the right candidate will undergo a comprehensive on-the job training as integral part of their role. Following the successful completion of a two-year training plan you would be considered for appointment or promotion to a career grade position within the University

The starting salary for this post will be £25,217 per annum.
