CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP IN VASCULAR SURGERY – 2 posts

Applications are invited for Clinical Fellowship posts in vascular surgery for a period of 24 months commencing 4th August 2021. The successful candidates will be expected to enrol with a University for a Doctorate in Medicine (MD). This post would be ideal for a Specialty Trainee wishing to undertake a period of research leading to the award of a Higher Degree (MD)

The appointee will be expected to perform at a level equivalent to that of a ST3 or above. They will be supervised by a consultant at all times.

The post is based in Ninewells Hospital and will firstly involve exposure to emergency vascular surgery. The successful applicant will participate in full on-call duties for vascular surgery on (approx) a one in eight frequency that includes weekends/nights (on call shifts are from 08:00-21:00hr),

Clinical - A clinical educational programme for the fellow will be established tailored to their requirements. Personal development plan and educational agreements will be documented. An assigned educational supervisor will be nominated. Outcomes will be recorded on ISCP.

Academic – the successful candidates will be expected to develop and undertake a research project, enrolling with a UK University for higher degree, leading towards the award of an MD.

While the post is not recognised for training by the Postgraduate Dean, the post is of high educational value and supported by the University of Dundee.
