OPHTHALMOLOGY DEPARTMENT
CLINICAL FELLOW / LOCUM APPOINTMENT FOR TRAINING
– SPECIALIST TRAINEE IN OPHTHALMOLOGY, ST1 to ST4 LEVEL
From Feb to Aug 2021 in first instance
This Locum covers a post which forms part of the West of Scotland Training programme in Ophthalmology and is recognised for training purposes.
We welcome applications from any suitably experienced and qualified individuals who are pursuing a career in Ophthalmology
The candidate will require to have completed basic foundation or equivalent surgical training and may be expected to work at a level equivalent to ST1-ST4 depending upon experience, in hospitals within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
Duties will include assisting in general & specialist clinics, assisting in theatre and undertaking minor procedures under the supervision of an Ophthalmology Consultant. In addition, the candidate will participate in the out-of-hours first-on-call rota, on an approximate 1 in 8 basis.
The post affords excellent opportunities for education, research and audit.
To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a licence to practice.
