Advanced Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology

This is a re-advertisement – applicants are required to meet the Essential Criteria outlined in Section 1 (person specification) of the job description.
Applications are welcome for the above fixed term (18 months), full time (40 hours per week) post based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
The focus of this post is the rapidly expanding field of biologic therapy in IBD. It will provide advanced specialist training and experience in Gastroenterology but with particular emphasis on the care of people with IBD.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake ongoing clinical research and audit of established and novel therapies as well as being part of a busy IBD Unit based at the Western General Hospital. Clinical duties will include outpatient and inpatient care to address NHS Lothian Waiting Times targets with a commitment to on call for Gastroenterology.
The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
However, opportunities exist to study for a higher degree eg MD
