As Operations Manager for you will be responsible for operational and professional leadership of the Breathing Space and Living Life teams across NHS 24’s locations, supporting telephone services and web chat.
This role is key in terms of guiding the strategic direction of service development in line with the Scottish Government’s Mental Health Strategy 2017 - 2027 and Suicide Prevention Action Plan: Every Life Matters, which forms the blue print for the future of Breathing Space and Living Life.
Breathing Space
Breathing Space was launched in 2002 to address serious concerns about the mental wellbeing of people in Scotland. The service became a national telephone helpline in 2004.
Advisors come from a range of mental health, counselling and social work backgrounds, providing a safe and supportive space for callers by listening, offering advice and sign-posting information. In 2019, Breathing Space expanded the channel offering by commencing a web chat test of change pilot.
Living Life is a tele-based therapeutic case management service for people experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties including low mood, mild to moderate depression and anxiety. A team of CBT therapists, mental health practitioners and guided self-help coaches manage individual case-loads offering treatments of 6-9 sessions to service users.
Both services are available to people in Scotland over the age of 16.
