Exciting opportunity to join the Plastic surgery Trauma service as an ANP to support the patient pathway in trauma. You will be supported to develop in the role and extend practice. The NP in Plastic Surgery is a registered nurse who has command of a broad expert knowledge base and complex clinical competence, is able to make complex clinical decisions using expert clinical judgement, is an essential member of an interdependent health care team and whose role is determined by the context in which you practise. You will work autonomously with the guidance of the Lead Nurse, Breast Reconstruction CNS, Plastic Surgery Consultants and within multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. You will competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group. This includes the authority to refer, admit and discharge within the appropriate clinical area. ANPs are educated at Masters Level in advanced practice and are assesses as competent in this level of practice. As a clinical leader they have the freedom and authority to act and accept the responsibility and accountability for those actions. This level of practice is characterised by high level autonomous decision making, including assessment, diagnoses, treatment including prescribing of patients with multi-dimensional problems. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse in the NMC register and that you are recorded as a Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber (V300) with the NMC.
