We are looking for a permanent Band 6 Nurse, Community Specialist Mental Health, to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team based at West Dunbartonshire CAMHS.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with NMC Registration.  Relevant post registration experience of working with children and or young people (and their families/carers) with a range of mental health/ learning disability and neuro-developmental difficulties is advantageous. Candidates must have an ability to work independently using own initiative and without direct supervision. They must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and demonstrates a positive attitude towards children and young people alongside an understanding of children and young people’s mental health and developmental needs. You must demonstrate an understanding of family, community, and social systems.  Youi should have the ability to function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and have knowledge of factors which impact on mental health and emotional well-being. They must be able to conceptualise vulnerability, including risk factors and intervene to build resilience. He/she must demonstrate an ability/willingness to work towards achieving the competencies identified in ‘Essential CAMHS’ and a commitment to personal and professional development. They should have evidence of organisational skills and experience of multi-disciplinary working.  You may be expected to participate in the provision of duty cover on a rotational basis.  As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be short listed for interview. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
