An opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of Clinical Nurse Manager for Emergency Department on the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Site in a permanent position.
This post is pivotal in providing professional and clinical leadership to the nursing teams, ensuring that the highest standards of practice are maintained and that safe effective person centred care is delivered to the highest standard.
The department provides 24-hour care for adult patients presenting with a range of medical, surgical, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, obstetric and gynaecological emergencies. Although the department does not have a dedicated paediatric service, resuscitation care for paediatric patients will occasionally be required both in the department and in the pre-hospital setting.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the busiest emergency department in Scotland treating on average 350 patients a day and as the major trauma unit for the south east of Scotland receiving the most critical of patients. The successful individual will have the skill and vision to develop a first class nursing service with a can do attitude focused on achieving a performance that ensures a safe patient experience.
The post holder will report to the Clinical Service Manager for Acute, General and Emergency medicine and professionally to the Associate Nurse Director for the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
