As a Trainee Assistant Practitioner within the Rapid Access Symptomatic Breast Service based at University Hospital Crosshouse you will work between University Hospital Crosshouse and Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will contribute to the delivery of a high quality mammography imaging service within the Symptomatic Breast Service and to the improvement and development of this service.
This post is a Band 3 Trainee Assistant Practitioner and after obtaining the higher certificate qualification you will progress to a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner Mammographer. The higher certificate qualification will take 12 to 18 months to complete, consisting of in house, online academic and clinical training, the later taking place at the West of Scotland Breast Screening Unit.
Experience of working clinically with patients in an imaging environment and knowledge of imaging/mammography process is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work within a team.
A car owner/driver is essential.
Hours: 37.5 per week, working flexible shifts Monday to Sunday and providing cover for the symptomatic breast service over the public holiday periods.
