NHS Dumfries and Galloway are recruiting a Full Time, Band 7 Infant Feeding Coordinator to lead Infant Nutrition and Breastfeeding support across the Women, Children and Sexual Health Directorate.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting staff and Infant Feeding Champions to effectively implement programmes of activity for continuous achievement and maintenance of UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) UK Best Practice Standards across Maternity, Neonatal and Health Visiting & Family Nurse teams.
The post requires you to be able to influence practice within all clinical areas with excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills. You will have a high level of knowledge and clinical experience of Infant Feeding and UNICEF UK BFI best practice standards. You will be dynamic and innovative with enthusiasm and motivation to lead and support the WCSH teams in providing high quality of care to mothers, their babies and families in our hospital and community settings.
A thorough understanding of current issues in infant feeding, locally, nationally, as well as current policy drivers is required as you will represent NHS Dumfries and Galloway at national Maternal and Infant Nutrition meetings.
