The Opportunities

We are now looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic registered AfC Band 5 Adult Nurses to join our existing Nursing teams based at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital which is a 1,677-bed acute hospital located in the south side of Glasgow. The 14 floor Queen Elizabeth University Hospital building is one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK and is integrated with the Royal Hospital for Children. The atrium of the hospital houses retail and restaurant/ coffee shops.

We are currently recruiting to a range of permanent posts across a number of Nursing specialities with immediate vacancies in the following:

  • Acute Medicine
  • Specialised medicine (including  cardiology , gastroenterology, respiratory)
  • General Surgical (including urology, ENT, vascular)
  • Stoke Medicine 
  • Care of the Elderly
  • Trauma & Orthopaedics

We are seeking candidates who will already demonstrate a flexible attitude and will be inspired to deliver a high standard of quality care. Good communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to assess, plan and implement care for your  patients. The ability to work on your own initiative but most importantly you must have the ability to to communicate with the Multidisciplinary team in enhancing the patient journey.

You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and should be able to work on your own merit supported by the wider nursing team. You will be working a fully rotational shift pattern over days, nights and weekends.

  • You should hold current registration with the NMC and be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Experience of prioritising and working in a dynamic and fast paced clinical working environment
  • Good communication skills, (written and verbal) and dealing with sensitive issues relating to clinical practice
  • Awareness of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its application within a clinical patient setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
