An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) to join a new team of Allied Health Professionals working within the Major Trauma Service at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. The ward will be based at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh which is set to become the Major Trauma Centre for the South East region of the Scottish Trauma Network in March 2021.

The APP role encompasses that of expert clinician, educator and auditor. Candidates must be highly skilled and dynamic, utilising high levels of decision making and clinical judgment to ensure that major trauma patient health needs are met through delivery of high quality, concentrated rehabilitation. The post holder will be actively involved in audit and research activity which will contribute to the development of the new major trauma service.

Candidates must display evidence of expert clinical knowledge and clinical reasoning skills in major trauma or a relevant clinical subspecialty. Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of complex presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of management, supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members and students is essential. You will be expected to contribute to a 5/7 working pattern.

This post will be working under leadership of the Physiotherapy Consultant who will support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
