Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Nuclear Medicine and PET CT
Base: South Sector
We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated and highly skilled Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Nuclear Medicine and PET CT to join a team of 30+ existing consultant diagnostic radiologists and 10 consultant interventional radiologists within the South Sector and to further support and develop services. This is a replacement post. The South Sector includes the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GG&C) is the largest National Health Service provider in Scotland with an annual operating budget of just under £2 billion. At the centre of this is a £1billion acute modernization programme which included the opening in spring 2015 of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Hospital for Children.
NHS GG&C has invested £15 million in new facilities and equipment, specifically in the areas of CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, PET CT / SPECT CT, Angiography and General Digital Imaging.
The QEUH site also has strong academic presence and close links with the University of Glasgow and there are opportunities to further develop academic and teaching interests.
Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher Specialist Training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
The job is advertised as a full time position although candidates who require to work part-time will be considered.
