We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacist with a drive to develop and deliver high quality pharmaceutical care in line with the Pharmacotherapy contract and patient focused projects. Joining an established multi-disciplinary team you will work at a strategic level across the Stewartry Health and Social Care Locality in partnership with General Practices to deliver high quality and cost effective prescribing initiatives. Developing a remote working pharmacy hub to provide a reliable service across all practices will be a key service goal in line with developing the best use of skill mix within pharmacy team consisting of a prescribing support worker, student technician, technicians, band 6 junior pharmacist and General Practice Clinical Pharmacists.
The post holder will contribute to the Prescribing Support Team of senior clinical pharmacists who develop the pharmacotherapy service across the 4 localities within Dumfries and Galloway, as well as proving direct line management to the Stewartry pharmacy team.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate Master of Pharmacy (or equivalent), be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and be committed to lifelong learning. You should have sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should ideally have previous experience of working with primary care, team management and be a qualified independent prescriber. Experience of using GP prescribing system EMIS would be desirable although training can be given.

This post requires PVG clearance, a full UK driving license and the ability to travel between the GP practices within the locality located in Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Glenkens, Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet.
