CONSULTANT CARDIOLOGIST (FULL TIME 40 HOURS)
£84,984 to £112,925 per annum
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Cardiologist (Full Time 40 Hours), based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. Raigmore Hospital is the principal hospital of NHS Highland, which has a large catchment area of 12,500 square miles and a population of 320,000.
Due to its geographical location, Raigmore Hospital benefits from an enhanced range of in-house cardiac services, as well as being a fantastic place to live and work.
The Cardiology Department is served by a modern 6-bedded coronary care unit, cardiology ward and cardiac catheterisation suite. Implantable cardiac devices, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, transoesophageal echocardiography, nuclear perfusion scanning, cardiac CT and MRI, coronary angiography and PCI are well-established on-site services. Training, teamwork and peer support are key aspects of working closely together in our cardiology team.
This post welcomes all cardiology sub-specialty interests (particularly echo, imaging, devices or heart failure) and no commitment to general medical receiving, unless requested by the applicant.
Research facilities are provided in the Centre for Health Science, adjacent to Raigmore Hospital. The department is currently recruiting for a large number of cardiology trials. Excellent academic links exist with the University of Aberdeen and the University of Highlands and Islands, with supervision of medical students, PhD and other postgraduate projects.
