You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support effective clinical care by providing efficient administrative, clerical and receptionist services within the paediatric wards.  To provide a reception service for patients and visitors arriving within the ward.  You will answer telephone enquiries, taking/relaying messages and providing information, and maintain electronic and paper based patient records systems providing confidential, accurate and up to date information.  You will also maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of TrakCare patient management system.  To provide administrative support to facilitate the patient’s progress through their care pathway.

Knowledge required to undertake the role will be established through relevant in-house training relating to processes and procedures, TrakCare patient information system and stock ordering system with expectation of performing at a fully competent level within a specific time period (tbc).

You should have previous clerical/reception experience as well as experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment.  Good organisational and communication skills, keyboard skills and are proficient in the use of computer systems.

The shift pattern is; 2 x 08:00 – 20:00.   Ward clerk team roster – can be weekdays or weekends
