As a member of the Pathology Management Team, you will be responsible and accountable for the design and implementation of all Compliance/Regulatory Systems for the Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s Pathology Service. This includes Quality Management, Health and Safety and Training systems. You will also be responsible for overseeing these systems to ensure the delivery of a service fit for purpose that represents the patients’ best interests and provides a highly specialised quality service in pathology.
You will will provide highly specialised expert advice on all regulatory matters within pathology to a range of people i.e. Head of Technical Service, Medical Consultants, Cellular Pathology Operations Managers, Specialty Managers Quality manager, Healthcare Managers within Glasgow, United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) and other Healthcare Professionals throughout Scotland and the United Kingdom. This directly contributes to service delivery, patient care and management.
It is essential you are
Educated to a Healthcare Science Masters Degree level (or demonstrable equivalent qualification) is required
Demonstrable management experience and knowledge appropriate to this post is required This may be represented by a formal management qualification.
Appropriate State Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist is mandatory
Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety standards & legislation (for example HSE, UKAS, ISO 9000) is essential
Practical knowledge of Risk Assessment including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and Health and Safety
A qualification in Quality Management or demonstrable equivalent
