Salary Scale: Band 8A - £49,480 - £53,414 per annum

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and dynamic Renal nurse to take up the post of Senior Nurse within the Renal unit based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The successful applicant will be supported by an SCN in the Haemodialysis unit and SCN in Home therapies. This post also provides the professional leadership to NHS Highland satellite renal dialysis units based in Fort William and Caithness. A further satellite unit is scheduled to open in Skye towards the end of this year. As part of restructuring within the division the post holder will also be required to support the SCN within the inpatient renal / gastrointestinal ward to ensure safe and effective clinical practice, manage and develop the performance of the team. The post holder will also manage a portfolio of renal and GI specialist / advanced nurses, supporting them to redesign services to contribute to the delivery of organisational objectives.
Engagement with patients, relatives, and the staff team is a vital part of the Senior Nurse role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and compassionate, caring culture. The successful candidate will be required to create a culture of continuous improvement where the patient is at the heart of the care we deliver.
You will require to be a first level registered nurse, extensive experience in renal nursing with 2 years at Senior Charge Nurse level. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and able to demonstrate strong leadership and excellent communication skills. Based in the City of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, Raigmore is the flagship Hospital! al of NHS Highland. With 480 beds, the Hospital covers all specialties and is a training hospital for nursing, medical and AHP staff in association with Stirling, Aberdeen and Dundee Universities. It is a Regional Cancer Centre and is sited on a campus along with the innovative Centre for Health Science. Outreach services are provided from this District General Hospital in Inverness to many sites across Northern Highlands and to both the Western Isles and Orkney.
