Family Health Services Manager
Band 8a - £49,480 to 53,414 per annum
Plus £1,074 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
37.5 Hours per Week

NHS Western Isles is looking for a Family Health Services Manager; the post holder will be accountable to the NHS Western Isles Health Board through the Medical Directors office.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient monitoring and processing of payments associated with the services within Primary Care. The post holder will undertake a lead role in the local implementation of all GMS, GOS, GPS and GDS contracts.
The post holder will be expected to commission enhanced services as directed by Scottish Government and set up mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the services. The post holder will take a lead role in any HIS assessments relating to GMS, GPS or GOS services.
The post holder will manage the process for providing continued general medical services where independent single-handed GPs retire or resign or when all the partners in a practice resign including organisation and management of any required Public Consultation. This will involve managing the direct employment of GPs and Practice Manager, ensuring that effective management arrangements are in place for other practice staff (i.e. Receptionists, Practice Nurses, Dispensers and others in order to provide continuity of GMS.
The post holder will be educated to degree level with experience of managing change in health or social care environments, and require excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and plan for the implementation of a sustainable new model of service provision.
This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
