Due to retirement and expansion of our services we are looking to recruit qualified Specialist Physiotherapists to our well established team working in Learning Disabilities within the City of Edinburgh and West Lothian.

We are a friendly, forward thinking and enthusiastic team, providing a service to clients with a learning disability in a variety of Community and In-patient settings.  This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency Community Team, and requires a motivated and committed individual with a flexible approach who is able to use their own initiative to ensure the needs of the clients are met.  Support is available from the Service Lead Physiotherapist and other members of the physiotherapy team as well as the multi-disciplinary team.

The post is challenging but exciting and offers excellent opportunity to participate in modalities such as hydrotherapy and rebound therapy as well as more traditional methods of treatment.

All applicants must hold a physiotherapy qualification, be HCPC registered and although experience in learning disabilities is not essential, should be able to demonstrate wide range experience and skills in a specialist field relevant to this post such as paediatrics, neurology, community working or similar and show a desire to work in this field and to making a difference to the lives of clients with profound and multiple disabilities.

Informal enquiries to Ann Findlay, Lead Physiotherapist on 07799 343052 or e-mail ann.findlay@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk are encouraged.  Further information about areas, base, hours etc. can be provided via informal contact.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
