A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Photographer (Band 5) or Trainee Medical Photographer (Band 5 Annex 21) to join our friendly and forward thinking team. We provide a full range of professional clinical photography services (including ophthalmic, dental, dermoscopy and 3D Imaging) and Diabetic Retinal Screening (as part of the National Screening Programme). Our role is varied and interesting and includes non-clinical photography, graphic design, large format print services, digital media and video production. We work closely with patients and support our colleagues across NHS Ayrshire and Arran in the delivery of high quality patient care, teaching and research.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive person with excellent communication skills who is creative and keen to develop and learn new skills. There is a high level of patient contact in this role therefore a caring attitude and sensitivity is important.
To apply, you must have a recognized clinical photography degree level qualification, be on the national AHCS register and have full membership of a professional body.
We will consider applicants for a trainee position who have a recognized degree level qualification in photography and are able to commit to completing the PG Cert in Clinical Photography (distance learning). The post is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. You will be based at Crosshouse Hospital and once qualified are required to provide clinical cover across NHS Ayrshire and Arran therefore a full driving license and own transport is essential.
