What You'll Do
We require 0.5wte to support the development of a trauma informed and trauma responsive workforce for victims and witnesses in Justice services.  The NES Trauma team has been working with people affected by Trauma and Abuse and across sectors including health, social care and justice. 
The postholder will be responsible for working with colleagues in the justice system to support victims and witnesses affected by traumatic events to give better evidence, and avoid potential harm and  to support the individual in their recovery from the impact of the trauma they have experienced.  They will work with a range of workforces to support trauma informed and responsive practice through training and implementation as part of the wider National Trauma Training Programme. 


What You'll Bring
The successful applicant will be an innovative and highly motivated health or social service practitioner (qualified to Masters level or equivalent) and have significant experience of clinical practice in the field of working with survivors of abuse and trauma, teaching / training. The postholder will also be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the justice system and how trauma informed and trauma responsive approaches could contribute to better outcomes for victims and witnesses and others  who are in contact with it. 


The post provides an opportunity for practitioners to take a leading role in a ground breaking programme of work at national level across sectors
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential, as is engagement in partnership working with a range of stakeholders. In addition, the post-holder will be committed to multi-professional and inter-agency approaches to education and healthcare, and will be able to demonstrate flexibility and high-level diplomacy skills. 
The base for the post may be negotiable but is important to note that it will be necessary for the successful applicant to attend a significant number of meetings in Edinburgh. The post will require travel throughout Scotland, and occasionally to other UK countries.
