Pharmacy Services

Pharmacy Technician Higher Level

Band 5 Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity for 18months

37.5 hours worked over Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and proactive Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and supportive team to assist with the delivery of Pharmacy Vocational Qualifications to Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians (PRPTs) and Pharmacy Support Workers (PSWs). Our team supports pharmacy staff across a wide range of services and specialties so that they may undertake national qualifications and educational programmes to aid their career progression.

This post will be specifically responsible for supporting development of Pharmacy Technician capacity through the expansion of our NHS GG&C PRPT Training Programme, with a specific focus on Primary Care.

You will have a key role in supporting our first cohort of Primary Care based PRPTs, to enable them to meet the competencies required to be eligible to register with the Pharmacy Regulator General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and practice as a qualified Pharmacy Technician. Although primary-care based, this will involve training in all sectors and there is no requirement for specific experience in Primary Care.

You will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Education and Training Team liaising closely with each of its members to ensure the exchange of key information affecting the efficient delivery of education and training to all support staff across Pharmacy Services.

You must be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate the key members of staff involved in supporting our PRPTs as well as the trainees themselves. You must have good verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to organise and prioritise your assigned workload. You will be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and essentially should have attained a Work Place Based Assessor Award (D 32/33, A Units or the L&D 9DI).

The shit pattern of this post is Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
