This post will be based at Neuro Institute Radiology Department. You will provide a comprehensive, confidential, efficient, high quality and timely secretarial and administrative service to Consultants, SpR, radiographic, support and nursing staff within the Radiology Department across the South West Sector. Provide high quality secretarial/administrative service for all within Radiology. You will audio type diagnostic medical examination reports if voice recognition is unavailable with accuracy and efficiency ensuring turnaround targets are met. You will maintain speciality databases across sites. Where report dictation has not been via Voice Recognition technology ensure reports suggesting urgent suspicion of cancer are notified promptly to Cancer Tracking Team. You will deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, medico-legal and company representatives providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. You should have an HNC/SVQ III in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent experience and advanced touch copy and audio-typing skills. You should be proficient in use of keyboard skills and have a basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology which is required at entry which will develop through training & experience to a specialist level. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
