An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic nurses within the Medical speciality wards at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, North G.G.&C.
The wards that have chosen for this rotational post offer an exciting, acute and varied experience of nursing. These are wards experienced in non- invasive nursing led interventions assuring care and standards with the nurse at the centre of the care pathway. We have positions available within Endocrine; Respiratory; Rheumatology; Gastroenterology and General Medicine.
As part of this team your continuing development is forefront with access to further education and leadership development with internal support with vocational modules via S.V.Q scheme and yearly grants available for conference contributions or Master programmes. There is a robust career structure within Medical wards, North G.G.&C.
As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients within the medical department. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the N.M.C trained in general nursing or adult nursing. Opportunities are also available for newly qualified staff.
You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of care, which are evidence based. Utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others. You will empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practising in an open, transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care.
The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service.
As part of N.H.S Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current N.M.C registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current N.M.C registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview.
Shift patterns are rotation day between day and night.
