Advanced Nurse Practitioner Plastic Surgery/ Trainee (Annex 21)
The Nurse Practitioner in Plastic Surgery at the Major Trauma Centre is a registered nurse who has command of a broad expert knowledge base and clinical competence, is able to make complex clinical decisions using expert clinical judgement, is an essential member of an interdendant health care team and whose role is determined by the context in which s/he practices. Work autonomously with the guidance of the Lead Nurse and Plastic Surgery Consultants, within the multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. Competently perform the necessary technical/ invasive/ physical aspects of care for this defined patient group including the authority to refer, admit and discharge within the appropriate clinical area.
Applications are sought from experienced nurses who are currently undertaking advanced practice roles or working towards within an acute care setting. Competence in the provision of acute care to the highest standard is required, as well as evidence of sound clinical decision making and prescribing practice, with knowledge and training equivalent to masters level or the commitment to undertake the required pathway. It is essential that you are currently a Registered nurse in the NMC. Must have or be committed to completing clinical assessment course and NMP training as a minimum. The shift pattern for this post is Mon-frid initially but may cover weekends once training complete
