Job Advert

Hours: 20 hours per week; some flexibility in hours and work pattern possible, for discussion at interview.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and hard working GP to join our dedicated team at Camphill Medical Practice and provide high quality care to our patients in an environment of warmth and compassion. The ideal candidate will play an active role within the practice to contribute to the maintenance of our high standards and help develop patient services for the future. We work as a close-knit team and make decisions together at weekly meetings so a team mindset is important to this role. Finding the right candidate is important to us so we are willing to be flexible to accommodate preferences regarding working hours.

The practice is situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty near the River Dee with possibly the best view from any consulting room in the city with regular appearances by wildlife including deer, woodpeckers and red squirrels.  We are a 5 minute drive from the Aberdeen City bypass and Royal Deeside and Cairngorms National Park are easily accessible.

We take a holistic approach to care, using conventional medicine as the basis and can extend this, where appropriate and wanted by patients, our Clinicians offer an integrative approach and work closely with 3rd sector charity organisation Camphill Wellbeing Trust. An interest in this approach is not essential for this post but training is available if desired.

We have a list size of around 1970 patients, a number of whom have moderate to severe learning disabilities; an interest in this field would be advantageous. The practice also has a high proportion of elderly patients with complex medical needs; therefore an interest in elderly medicine would also be advantageous.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org

We are involved in 5th year medical student teaching with students from The University of Aberdeen.

As a Section 2c Practice, our staff are employees of NHS Grampian and are managed by Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership. NHS Grampian is a people-focused organisation offering employment practices which are both flexible and family-friendly.

There is no contracted OOH commitment, however sessions working in unscheduled care would be available separately from GMED, (local OOH provider) or A&E Department, ARI
