An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Romanian Spoken Language Interpreter to join our expanding Team within Interpretation & Translation, NHS Tayside.


The Corporate Equalities, Interpretation & Translation Service provide Romanian interpretation throughout Tayside, within Acute Services, Health & Social Care Partnerships across Tayside, Primary Care and Independent Contractors.  You will work closely with the Team Lead and other Spoken Language / British Sign Language Interpreters to deliver a high quality service to patients, carers and their families in Tayside. 


Romanian Spoken Language Interpreters will be supported to develop skills and competencies which will allow them to operate as autonomous practitioners with minimal supervision of their work.


  • Must have Romanian spoken language interpreting experience
  • Ability to travel throughout NHS Tayside
  • It is an essential requirement to hold a diploma in Public Service Interpreting (preferably Health).  Or commitment to attend NHS Tayside DPSI (Health) training.


This is a role with focus on providing Romanian language interpretation to patients, carers and their families.  Part of this role will include translation of documents into Romanian/English.

Hours of work: Applications welcome for a 7.5 hours contract (Monday 09:00-17:00 with flexibility).  The Interpretation & Translation Service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
