Job Advert

Are you looking for a new and exciting career move?  Would you like the opportunity to consolidate your MSK and other core physiotherapy skills, as well as challenge yourself with a more complex patient group?  If so, this could be the job for you!

The Fife Pain Management Service (FPMS) requires an experienced Physiotherapist to join their team.  FPMS has a strong self management & multidisciplinary ethos, and our approach has led the way and become the model for chronic pain services across Scotland.  The Physiotherapy team is a key element of the Multidisciplinary service.  Your remit will include assessment and physiotherapy treatment of patients with complex chronic pain, biomechanical assessments, functional rehabilitation and the delivery of pain management programmes.

You will have proven physiotherapy skills in a variety of clinical settings, and will demonstrate sound clinical reasoning skill.  Some experience working with chronic pain patients would be desirable but is not essential if you can demonstrate your transferrable skills and willingness to learn.  Excellent skills in communication, presentation and motivation are all essential for the delivery of our pain management programmes.

We have experienced senior staff within the team who will provide training, and are committed to continuous professional development.  The team has strong links to National pain networks which is encouraged.  The service is currently developing its patient pathway and you will have the opportunity to be involved in this development, and associated research projects.

The ability to travel to various locations throughout Fife during the working day is essential.

For informal enquiries, further information or to ask any questions about the post, please contact Joanna Myers, Lead Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline on 01383 623623 ext 23703.  We are also willing to facilitate informal visits or shadowing opportunities for applicants if requested.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
