This substantive full-time post with a specialist interest in Major Trauma and Facial / Head & Neck Reconstruction is a new post to support the development of the West of Scotland Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the Unit on call rota covering both adult and paediatric plastic surgery.
The Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit currently has 18 full time Consultants. The Service provides the entire spectrum of plastic and reconstructive subspecialty services excluding craniofacial surgery and has a large workload of general plastic surgery. This Unit is internationally recognised and runs a variety of teaching courses every year.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration and a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
