Responsible for the operational management of the nursing workforce teams and wider MDT including Occupational Therapists, Social Work, Dieticians, Physiotherapist, Psychological nurse therapists and Administration within the Regional, National and local Specialist Mental Health Services managed by REAS, NHS Lothian. Supporting the Chief Nurse, Deputy Chief Nurse, Clinical Service Manager and General Manager REAS to build and sustain Local, Regional and National Specialist Mental Health nursing services fit for the 21st century through service redesign and by promoting safe, effective and person-centred, evidence-based practice.
Provide leadership to promote high professional standards and lead improvement and redesign projects across these services and in partnership with other agencies. Ensure that patients’ needs are met and measured by clinical outcomes that offer both professional and care assurance
Providing professional leadership, support and advice to Mental Health Nurses and nurse therapists working within local and regional Perinatal Mental Health (PNMHS & MBU), Eating disorders (Cullen & REDU) and the National Mental Health Service for Deaf People. Advise and contribute strategically to the National Managed Clinical Network for Perinatal, Regional Planning groups for Perianal and Eating disorders and the National services division.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
