Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, individuals will have responsibility for leading an Acute Sector/Directorate ensuring there is a clear focus on the delivery of a range of services against local, regional and national objectives. At the same time you will ensure services continue to respond to the increased demands of a changing population and deliver against key national performance targets including Access and Waiting Times.

As a result of recent retirements we are now seeking to appoint 2 new Directors who will be responsible for the strategic and operational accountability for the following key roles:

Director – Woman and Children’s Directorate has responsibility for Women and Children’s services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde including paediatric, obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology and maternity clinical services which are delivered from the Royal Hospital for Children on the Queen Elizabeth University Campus and from 3 maternity hospitals located in Glasgow and Paisley. In addition this post holder will lead on a host of national and regional services.
 
Director – North Sector: The North Sector Director has responsibility for the delivery of a whole range of inpatient, outpatient and Emergency services to residents in the north and east of the city with most clinical services delivered from Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital and Lightburn Hospital.

Inpatient and outpatient Acute and Medicine for the Elderly services are delivered across 9 Acute sites which include Acute teaching hospitals.
