NHS Fife affirms the importance of spiritual care, and recognises that it is a core aspect of person centred care. NHS Fife’s Department of Spiritual Care has built a reputation for developing innovative and creative models for the development and delivery of spiritual care. Healthcare Chaplains work in a busy, and at times challenging environment; managing multiple priorities, both planned and unexpected. We are seeking to appoint a Registered Healthcare Chaplain, who whilst based within the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, shall work across multiple sites within Fife.

You will be expected to specialise, but not limited to, maternity, paediatrics and Palliative Care. You will be required to display excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to reflect on their practice.

You should be qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in a relevant subject. In addition you should have, or be working towards, specialist training in healthcare chaplaincy such as a Post-Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Chaplaincy. You will be required to evidence experience of delivering spiritual care within health and social care settings including knowledge and understanding of recent developments in spiritual care within NHS Scotland.

Good IT skills and the ability to drive are essential. You will be expected to register with the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains. You will be required as a condition of employment to go through a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.  You will participate in an on-call / out of hour’s rota (currently 1:4).
