The Respiratory Physiology Service provides routine and specialised paediatric services to the local population of Greater Glasgow as well as specialised investigations to tertiary referrals primarily for the WoSCor MCN. The department works with patients ranging from pre-term babies to young adults.
You will be required to perform the full range of Sleep, Lung function & Exercise investigations offered by the department. They will be required to analyse and report complex physiological investigations as well provide support to out-patient clinics.
You must be able to travel to other GGC & MCN partner sites to support clinical duties.
You must be flexible in their working hours, in addition to office hours the post holder will be required to work rotational shifts including night-shift & back shifts to support the sleep service. These shifts are occasionally more frequent to cover service needs.
You will be asked to supervise junior staff & may be asked to deliver training and education to other team members, to other medical specialities within the hospital and out with the hospital (e.g. MCN hospitals).
It is essential you have a Degree in Clinical Physiology or ARTP part 1 + 2 or Practitioner exam.
With significant practical experience working practitioner level, competent in performing Basic & Advanced Sleep investigations, - competent in performing Basic & Advanced Lung function investigation, - Registration to RCCP (Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists), ACHS ( Academy for Healthcare Sciences), or HCPC (Health care Professions Council).
It is also desirable you have a - Qualification in Sleep medicine ( e.g. BRPT , ESRS or equivalent)
