Joint Communications Team - NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland

Band 5 - Salary Range £25,351 - £31,966 plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,895or £1,263 depending on residency pro rata per annum

A Relocation Allowance of up to £8,000 is also payable

We are looking for an experienced communications officer to join the joint Communications Team for NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland. You will play a key role in our small communications team, mainly focused on strengthening our digital communications and on staff and stakeholder engagement through a period of change management for both Boards.

Experience in communications, public relations or marketing is essential. You will work alongside the Corporate Services Manager, communications colleagues and the wider staff group to support the delivery of excellent communications across a range of platforms, and facilitate the involvement of patients, the public and clinicians, so excellent writing and interpersonal skills are a must.

We are a small communications team and flexibility is essential to support our activities including flexing to cover external and internal communications roles across the two boards and taking part in an on call rota for communications as required. Please note the post holder can be located in either Board area, with minimal requirement to travel between the two.
