You will assesses plans, implements and evaluates evidenced based programmes of care with reference to patients, without direct supervision. You will co-ordinates the provision of seamless care for patients from admission to discharge by utilising efficient verbal and written communication practices with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team / Primary Care Services and Carers. You will take responsibility for a defined group of patients within the clinical specialty. You will provide senior cover and manage the ward/department area in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse or Deputy. In conjunction with the Senior Charge Nurse ensures that nursing resource is utilised efficiently by managing on duty rosters, short notice sickness absence and manpower resources to comply with agreed policy and procedure. You will ensure effective management of ward/department resources including stores, supplies arge Nurseand medicines. Provides teaching, guidance, supervision and support for junior staff (qualified and non qualified). Assists the Senior Charge Nurse in the development of ward/department based orientation and education programmes for newly qualified staff and student nurses and acts as mentor / preceptor as required, providing teaching, guidance, supervision and support for junior staff (qualified and non qualified). You will participate in out of hours surgical unit. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC. The shift pattern for this post is 12 hour rotational.
