The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) is the specialist provider of transfusion medicine in Scotland, supplying high quality blood, blood products and tissues. Our key priority is to ensure that NHS Scotland has enough blood to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland

Are you looking for your next challenge in infection prevention? Are you an experienced infection prevention and control nurse?

We are looking for a friendly, confident, dynamic and outgoing nurse to lead on all aspects of infection prevention and control within SNBTS. The role also includes NSS led projects and initiatives. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication outstanding influencing and organisational skills and be able to lead, manage and work autonomously within a team. You will be self motivated, proactive and an innovative individual with the ability to be flexible and react positively to on-going changing demands and priorities.

The post holder will provide strong and effective leadership, expert advice and assurance on all infection prevention and control matters. You must also be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development working within the IPC competencies framework.
 
The position is based in Glasgow/Edinburgh however extensive travel throughout Scotland is required. You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Varied and extensive experience within infection prevention and control field is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency
